Who I Am

I’m Miles Aaron Sutton, the founder and main writer behind Vsomi. My path into vinyl started the way it does for a lot of people: with a dusty turntable found at a garage sale and a curiosity about why those old records sounded so alive. That single find turned into a collection, the collection turned into years of trial and error with cartridges, tonearms, cleaning methods and storage setups — and eventually all of that turned into this website.

Everything published on Vsomi comes from that hands-on experience, combined with careful research. When I write a guide about setting tracking force, it’s because I’ve set it wrong, heard the distortion, and learned to fix it. When I recommend a record-cleaning method, it’s one I’ve actually used on my own collection.

What I Cover

My work on Vsomi focuses on three areas: turntable setup (placement, leveling, cartridge alignment, tracking force, anti-skate and phono preamps), record care (cleaning, static removal, storage, drying and repair), and practical vinyl guides (valuing a collection, building a listening room, and choosing gifts for collectors).

Honesty About My Credentials

I am not an audio engineer or a certified acoustics professional, and I don’t present myself as one. I’m an experienced hobbyist who has spent years learning by doing — making mistakes, fixing them, and documenting what actually works. Where a topic requires professional expertise, I say so in the article and point readers toward qualified specialists. All content on Vsomi is provided for educational and informational purposes only.

How I Work

Every article on Vsomi is written from real experience and researched with care before publication. I review and update older guides when equipment, best practices or my own understanding changes — you’ll find a “last updated” date on articles that have been revised.
